Coast to Coast with Art Bell - 1997-08-19 - David Adair
Complete interview with David Adair on Coast to Coast with Art Bell August 19, 1997.
Duration: 2:46:55
David Adair is an internationally recognised expert in space technology spinoff applications for industry and commercial use. At age 11, he built his first of hundreds of rockets which he designed and test-flew. At 17, he won "The Most Outstanding in the Field of Engineering Sciences" award from the US Air Force. At 19, he designed and fabricated a state-of-the-art mechanical system for changing jet turbine engines for the US Navy that set world-record turnaround times that still stand today. David Adair is the president of Intersect, Inc., and he lectures and provides consulting services to companies and organisations that want to know how to use the latest cutting-edge technological advances.
David's dad built engines for NASCAR legend Lee Petty, Richard Petty's dad. David had access to their machine shop where built some of his rockets.

St Kilda Pavilion
This photo was taken on a Nikon D80 with a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens. I'd only had the camera about 2 weeks and it was a very overcast day. The original came out pretty flat, so, I tweaked it up a bit in Dynamic Photo HDR to give it more punch.
Click on the pic for the widescreen 1920x1200 version.

Minecraft Minecart Ride - Virginia Plain
Virginia Plain was the amazing first single off Roxy Music's self-titled debut album released in '72. Great stuff!
This video shows a ride along part of a track I created in Minecraft. It's got minecart stations, door boosters, powered rails, dancing cows...
Turn it up loud and dance along!

The Battle of the Valve Jobs
Not really a battle. It's just cool that somewhere there are people making old-style valve radios.
This is a beautifully restored Telefunken Opus 7 circa 1956...
And this is a brand new R801 by Shenzhen V. A. L. Technology in China...
Here's what it looks like on the inside...
The R801 has 7 valves and costs about $848. It's pretty big, too. 54cm x 33cm x 25 cm.

Metropolis II
This is just like the Hot Wheels tracks we used to build as kids. But, we had a few less cars. And I don't think our tracks were quite as long.

Ride Forever - Leslie Nielsen (February 11, 1926 – November 28, 2010)
This is a grouse song from one of my favourite episodes of the Due South TV series and includes a little bit of lesser-known Leslie Nielsen as Sgt Buck Frobisher.
Apparently Leslie only appeared in 4 episodes. I was sure it was more.
I was bloody sad when I heard he'd died.
Ride forever, Leslie.
